Isildur1 and Negreanu go back and forth with poker winnings

The back and forth action on the winnings explains the two contradictory headlines I’m seeing regarding poker news.  The folks over at RTG, an US run new source are reporting that Viktor “Isildur1” Blom won $150,000 from Daniel “kidpoker” Negreanu.  While over at Bluff Magazine the headline is that Negreanu beat Blom. But Bluff is out of the UK so a bit ahead of the US on poker news on a Monday morning. Which is why I always check with Bluff every morning before the US market as started writing the stories and sharing the news.  Besides, I’m an Isildur1 fan. That really ha

A set of rules of playing craps

Since craps is a dice hazard game and there is a bit of etiquette rules of craps online. Keep in mind these basics if you are a first time player. It is considered bad luck to say the word “seven”, use the term “Big Red” instead. It’s also impropriety for a shooter to leave the table after the success of Come Out or change dice in the middle of a roll. All hands or elbows should be kept away from the table when a player is ready to ride to not interfere with the dice. It is also considered bad manners to eat or drink on the table, so this point could be missed in online game. Read full post…

Everest Poker has more tournament details

Who’s going to Monaco next month?  Okay, no not me. But I wish I was. Because next month is the first time the ONE tournament from Everest Poker will run.  Now there are lots of ways to qualify for the tournament and of course Everest Poker is running satellite qualifiers.  There’s just one problem on my side. My side is the United States side and Everest Poker’s online poker room doesn’t accept players from the United States.  So, nope I won’t be going to Monaco next month.  Of course US players can travel over there and register for the tournament on site.  As far as I know, Monaco itself doesn’t have any rules against those of us from the United States.

Now what has me fascinated about the Everest Poker ONE event is the choice of Monaco as a location. Everest Poker reall

Sunday Million poised to make history

Let’s just stop and take a breath for a second, because that’s the type of thing rational people should do before stepping into the realm of the irrational. If you’re a yoga person, do a downward-facing dog or turn yourself into a tree or something. Okay. Relaxed? Good. Now, let’s talk about what very well could be the biggest PokerStars Sunday Million the world has ever seen.

In just a little bit more than 48 hours , PokerStars will host a crazy-insane Sunday Million with a $5 million guaranteed prize pool and a $1 million guaranteed first prize.

Erik Seidel wins LAPC High Roller event for $144,000

To be totally honest, when we saw the results of the LAPC High Roller we assumed they were a joke – how can Erik Seidel continue to run this good after two PCA final tables and two Aussie Millions final tables worth abined $3.6m? Well, he has. Seidel defeated a small field of just 18 players at the LA Poker Classic in the $25,000 High Roller event and began the day by Tweeting: “Down to two tables in the high roller, or to put it another way, just started the high roller”. Will Florida legalize online poker?

In California they’re working on proposed legislation to allow online poker within the state, a proposal that still leaves some poker players dissatisfied but it’s light years ahead of the state of online poker in Washington state.  After all, in Washington State playing poker online is a federal offence.  And in New Jersey, legislation to legalize and regulate online gambling has already passed the state legislature but has faced a delay in getting the final sign off from the governor.  And now Florida is entering the race to legalizing online gambling.

In Florida, legislation has been proposed that could result in legalize online poker by July 1st.  The summer date could push Florida ahead of both California and New Jersey in allow residents to play poker for real money online.  So what would make the difference in Florida?  Well, the state faces a budget deficit that it needs to make up, but so do many other states.  But in Florida, lawmakers are admitting that many residents already gamble online and play poker online.  Florida knows it isn’t going to stop them but that legalizing and regulating online poker would allow them to try to protect those players.  Of course it would also allow them to collect money from those players.  So poker players will get to play poker and the state will get some much needed revenue.

Of course, Florida does have one thing inmon with New Jersey.  Florida has a Republican governor. And if that gove
