Casino commission hopes Cleveland casino will open on time

Casino regulators are hopeful Cleveland’s casino will open as scheduled next spring, despite a licensing delay.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – State casino regulators are hopeful that Cleveland’s casino will open as scheduled next spring, despite a delay in Rock Ohio Caesars securing its operating license.

Asked Wednesday whether Rock’s scheduled March 26 opening was still doable, Ohio Casino Control Commission executive director Matt Schuler expressed concern.

Team Poker Stars Players Sued

Two members of Team Poker Stars, the team of celebrity pro poker players sponsored by Poker Stars to represent them online and at live events have been sued by one of the largest casino resort organizations in the world ,Wynn.

Specifically, Wynn Las Vegas is suing Leonardo Fernandez and Veronica Dabul who the casino claims cheated them out of $700K at the craps tables. The casino alleges that the duo used a technique called dice sliding, a system of throwing the dice in such a way as to ensure that at least one die always comes up showing a high number.

The lawyer representing the online poker brand Full Tilt has made a statement in defense of new allegations that the poker company was only a cover for a $400 million Ponzi scheme. Attorney Jeff Ifrah had this to say, “Banks fail all the time for not having sufficient funds to cover customer deposits but yet no one refers to such bank failures as Ponzi schemes.
