Man City FC Match Odds

Founded in 1880 by St Marks Church, the club was renamed Ardwick AFC when it later moved to Hyde Road to reflect its new location. A founding member of the Football League in 1892, it was reformed as Manchester City FC after experiencing financial difficulties in the 1893/94 season.

The Blues won their first FA Cup in 1904 and in 2011 after a 35 year wait delighted their fans with a victory over Stoke City, to claim it again.

In 1920 a fire destroyed the Main Stand at Hyde Rd and the club moved to Maine Road in Moss Side, where they played until they moved to the City of Manchester Stadium in 2003. During the 1930/40s City were one of the best supported teams in the country winning FA Cup and League titles. In 1956 their FA Cup homecoming parade was the first outside transmission by Granada TV. The 1960s, under the popular management team of Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison saw City win further FA Cup and League titles and in 1970 they won the European Cup Winners Cup and the League Cup.

Manchester Citys fortunes have ebbed and flowed over the years and in 1997 they sank as low as the Third division. They have spent 14 years in the Premier League since it was founded in 1992 but have often struggled to enjoy the same success as their great rivals at Old Trafford, the legendary Manchester United. In the 2010/11 season they finished third in the Premier League to ensure UEFA Champions League qualification for the first time and give their loyal fans hope, that at last, the clubs Blue Moon [their anthem] has finally arrived!

It was confirmed in July 2011 that after striking a 10 year deal with an airline, the Blues stadium will be renamed the Etihad Stadium.
