Hung-Sheng “Shaq” Lin wins massive Macau Millions

A record breaking field of 1,329 runners were in attendance at the Casino Grand Lisboa this past week for for a record-breaking Macau Millions.

In the end it was Taiwan’s Hung-Sheng “Shaq” Lin who took the honours at Sunday’s final table. After eliminating fellow big stack Khiem Nguyen, Shaq needed only one hand to seal the victory, his pocket Jacks holding up against Brice Renaud’s K6.

Shaq, who pocketed HKD$400,000 (around £30,000) for the win said, “”I’m very happy but
also very tired. I didn’t sleep last night because I was so excited about today,” adding, “I want to win the APOY (Asian Player of the Year) and show that I am worthy of gaining my family’s support. I won’t stop playing just because I have a lead. I’m going to work hard and play all the (Official Asia Player of the Year) events.”

“This year the popularity of the Macau Millions is so much greater, particularly within the region.” said the PokerStars Director of Live Operations for Asia-Pacific, Danny McDonagh, “Poker is really taking off in Asia.
