Online Poker – Where you gonna play?

Bodog! All right, Iming out with a rmendation here. Oh, Ill probablye out with more than one as we go forward into this new online poker world. But right now online poker players are hurting for a place to play. At least we are in the United States. Weve lost PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker. And bets are off on those two ever returning to the US market. As for UB and Absolute Poker, well, odds are that those two wont even survive for players in the European market. Theyre up against strongpetition over there with sites like Party Poker and PKR poker, which keeps winning awards.

Pointing the finger at the biggest Black Friday culprit: It’s not who you think

Since the advent of online poker the industry has always been operating in somewhat of a legal gray area, and after UIGEA legislation was introduced in the middle of the night, attached to the Safe Ports Act, our gray area became a dark and ominous cloud hanging over the online poker industry. And for the better part of a decade the online poker community has been content to simply move to the side as the occasional storm came down; that was until April 15, 2011 when the dark ominous cloud finally opened up and unleashed a storm the likes of which we have never seen before.

So who is really to blame for the current state of online poker in the United States?

Seiver and Hall make WPT Championship final table

The Bellagio was quite busy Wednesday with the debut of the World Poker Tour’s first Super High Roller event in Las Vegas. A field of 29 players put up the $100,000 buy-in to participate in the televised tournament that featured some of the biggest stars in the game. Only 17 of the 29 players survived Day 1 action and Justin Bonomo left for the night with the biggest chip stack and his eyes on the $1 million top prize.

Bonomo leads the second-place stack of Vivek Rajkumar by more than 20 big blinds. Rajkumar has a tiny lead over Erik Lindgren, and after those three, there’s nobody close. John Morgan, sitting in fourth place, is down nearly 60 big blinds to Lindgren and is up four big blinds on Randy Dorfman. Read full post…

Scott Seiver wins the WPT World Championship! ($1,618,344)

The 2011 WPT Championship has come to and Scott Seiver, who entered the final table as chip leader, is the winner after knocking out Farzad Bonyadi in second place! This is how the final hand was played out.

Scott Seiver raised to 400,00, and Bonyadi called. Both players checked to the river on the board of 1062QK. Bonyadi checked, Seiver bet 600,000. Bonyadi raised to 1,600,000. Seiver thought for a while before he moved all in. Then it took about 3 minutes before Bonyadi decided to call.

Seiver showed J9 for a king-high straight. Bonyadi flipped over Q10 for two pair. Bonyadi is eliminated in second place for $1,061,900.
